Status of the beam energy scan grid

As we discussed in our evo meeting, I updated the BES analysis grid.  You will see in yellow the (approximate) number of good events taken at every energy.  This comes directly from Grazy

1) I updated the TPC-PXL sector overlap picture to reflect
the true TPC arrangement, as per Xin's correction. I
put the new picture in the meeting's Drupal page.
2) Flemming drafted a MS-Project schedule diagram for software
and associated Milestones. I will at this in detail over
   the weekend.
3) Flemming is preparing some drawings of the detector complex
for the non-initiated folks, like me.
4) Jonathan is looking into tracking efficiency/ghosting with the
prototype only. He has problems with every option he tries
for the moment (some of them just resolved). There is going
to be more discussion in this list about this stuff. It
has been a while since we used this production chains and
   things got rusted.
5) I have asked for CMM time during the Collab. meeting since
we are going to be there anyway.
6) I 've contacted Auguste about the slow simulator.
7) Jerome contacted me about updates. We are on in next week's
S&C Wed meeting and also during the Friday morning plenary
   session at the Collab. meeting.

1) Geometry. Flemming produced a proportional sketch of the
support structures. Posted it on Drupal's page.
2) Prototype tracking. Jonathan is getting close. He might
post a couple of plots by the meeting's time.
3) PXL response. We got the DIGMAP code and some docs. What
   next?
4) The CERN beam test is successfully over. I put a picture
   he sent on Drupal

1) I made a short presentation at the S&C meeting yesterday:
http://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/event/2011/11/02/software-and-computing-meeting/hft-software-status

2) Jonathan made progress on TPC+PXL tracking.

3) I got an email form Howard that the touch probe for the
VIEW-3000 will ship Nov 11. There is no arrival date but
we might be able to do something with it at the Collab.
meeting. If not we will still learn about data formats
  etc of this device.

1) I know that Jonathan re-run the prototype
efficiency (acceptance) for  pt>0.3
(which is to make sure we have a reasonable
track reconstr.in the TPC). He is going to post

his file soon.

2) We are looking into optimizing the TPC+3sector PXL
configuration. TPC has 12 sectors the PXL 3 out of 10.

We need to take care of the gaps (put the 3sectors)
so we have only one TPC gap shadowing, and also make
sure we have healthy TPC sectors. He has some drawings
and there is work in progress here (use TPC state in last
   run as a basis).

3) He is making a list of volumes in Y2013 'blank' geometry.
We are waiting for a drawing to be available for that
year's support material but Flemming/Jim are big helpers
in this (thanks guys). Jonathan is playing with this
   geometry.

4) There is some progress in reprocessing the old, Yifei's
files with BFC and mask out IST/SSD hits (no material)
plus PXL sector (hits). Later I will coordiante with
Yifei to start a production with Hijing+D0s in Y2013a,b
(a=Mercedes, b=All adjacent) with proper material, for
   accurate tracking excercises.

5) I posted a WBS Software schedule Flemming prepared. I
still need to talk to him so I can understand the notation.

Send the list the items yoiu might have. S.

1) HFT Geometry update. There several things going on.

The highest priority item is to build a y2013 geometry
for the prototype run. This needs the beam pipe, the
support cones and the 3-sector PXL model. I asked
Jonathan to be the liaison with the BNL group.

The SSD ladders in geant have very nice detail (thanks
Gerrit for remind me of that). Minor work on the ladder
would be needed plus the re-mounting in the smaller
   radius.

Some documents I posted on the meeting's page, Jonathan
is going to also post snapshots of UPGR13 and UPGR15
   (current) geometry.

I will created on the subsystem pages on Drupal directories
   (repositories) for Geometry information/drawing, Survey
documents (eg fiducial mark position drawings etc) etc.

2) We started work on updating the prototype efficiency/
acceptance of D0s to current sector specs. Some
older calculations done by us and Howard Wieman are
posted. This stuff is going to be the basis for a
presentation to the HF group with the question of
'What physics can we get out of the HFT prototype?'
provided a lengthy/healthy run and also that
tracking with TPC/PXL only is marginally o.k. (TBD)

3) I would like to start the discussion (Purdue needed)
on what is next in implementing a Fast/slow sim in STAR.
