1. 19.6 GeV Run-by-Run QA:

Comments:

1). RunID 450 to 500, the jump in eta/phi plot likely due to the RDO problems during this runing period.
2). At the beginning of the run, the beam is not centered, so there is shift in eta;

Things to do:

1). Compare the bad run-list to those points that outside the normal ranges, see if there is plotting issues;

2). Check the RunLog to find out the possible reasons for the bad runs;

3). Check other variables like Q;

4). Change the tolerance from 5sigma to 3sigma, to check the sensitivity of cuts.

Conclusion:

Need to do some checks, but the run list after this QA is good enough for centrality.

2. Summary of the variables from different working group
https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/pwg/common/bes-ii-run-qa

3. Discussion:

1). Centrality group is fine with using DCA, but will also monitor the sDCA. May change DCA to sDCA after having a good understanding of this variable.

2). Yu Hu will update the code in Github.

3) We are 80% of the way through 14.6 GeV production. 14.6 GeV QA will start ASAP after the data production is done.

4) For FXT run QA, need a few changes eg. need to change RefMult to number of primary tracks, shift vr cuts. Each working group should think about the changes on QA.

Agenda:

 1. List of variables from each working group to do this QA:

      Daniel: centrality.

      Chenliang: LF

      Ashish: bulk cor,

      Ashik: FCV

      Kaifeng: HF

      Tong: jet cor

A brief minutes for today's meeting:

https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/event/2021/10/22/qa-board-meeting

1. Centrality:

We have good agreement for centrality QA: 1. No pile-up cuts (like TOFMatch cut); 2. Lower nhits cut to 10; 3. Power pT cuts to 60 MeV. So the list of cuts and variables:

Cut used:

145 #MAX_AbsVz [cm] this is max |Vz|
145 #MAX_Vz [cm] this is max |Vz|
-145 #MIN_Vz [cm] this is max |Vz|
2 #MAX_Vr [cm]

10 #MAX_nHitsFit
3 #MAX_gDCA [cm]
0.06 #MIN_pT [GeV]
2 #MAX_pT [GeV]

Variables:
<RefMult>
<eta>

<phi>

<DCA>
dEdx

2. LF group:

Use the same cut as centrality, additional variables:

Event level: Mean Number of primary tracks, Mean bToFMult (number of btof hits)
Primary Track: Mean pT, Mean bToF 1/beta.

3. CF group:

same as LF group, with additional variables:

Mean of sDCAxy, Mean of sDCAxy RMS, <tofmatched>, <Bbc> , <Zdc> , <Nhitsfit>

4. FCV group:
additional variables:

Q1 and Q2 (x,y TPC EPD BBC ZDC), EPD east hits, EPD west hits.

5. HF group:

additional variables:

VPD hits east, VPD hits west, bTofYLocal, bTofZLocal, eTof Delta X, eTof Delta Y, eTof Hits, eTof 1/Beta, number of MTD hits, number of MTD hits matched with TPC tracks

6. Jet Corr:

additional variables:

EMC cuts: average hit energy, number of bad towers from database;

Jet QA: jet pt, number of jets, eta, phi. Maybe should working with SpinGroup for pp runs in the next few years.

QA for centrality should start as soon as possible, check the setup with people from centrality group (Grigory). While for those that is specific for different working groups, will need to work with different groups to make things working.
