-- This is for a few on-going analyses which depend on embedding to go forward. At least one of them is aimed at QM

#20191402-03, pi+/pi- in Run14 AuAu200 MB, No-HFT, reproduction, not started yet.
-- Run14 should be our mainstay for years to come; this is the first and most important step toward efficiency estimation and folding & unfolding. Many analyses are waiting for this embedding, multiple are aimed at QM as well.

- ColdQCD/Spin
--  Run 13 period 1, PYTHIA+GEANT embedded into zero bias
    This is our highest priority, as it's needed to complete the Run 13 jet and di-jet A_LL analysis.  It's been underway for several months, and is expected to be completed by the end of this week.

--  Run 15 pi/K/p into minbias
    This has been on the list at relatively low priority for quite a while. However, it is now one of the rate-determining reactions for progress to continue on the Run 15 Collins analysis.  (Detailed status/explanation will be provided if you wish.)  It should be quick and easy.  We would like this to be run as soon as the Run 13 period 1 request is completed.

--  Run 13 period 2, PYTHIA+GEANT embedded into zero bias
    In principle, this should be a very high priority for us.  However, as I mentioned during the PWGC call last Friday, the Run 13 period 2 false asymmetries are currently way too big.  There is some concern that the problem might be intrinsic to (a) the very high instantaneous luminosities that were present during most of Run 13 period 2 and/or (b) the strange noise that was observed in the EMC and trigger during much of Run 13 period 2 (but never understood).  If the problem is truly intrinsic, that might require us to disregard the period 2 data for the final Run 13 A_LL analysis.  Thus, the PWG has concluded that the false asymmetry problem needs to be resolved before we can justify the devoting a large amount of CORI time to period 2 embedding.

Although it hasn't been submitted yet, we have another very large PYTHIA+GEANT embedding request on the horizon for Run 15.  This is needed for further progress on the Run 15 jet and di-jet A_LL analysis, and will become a critical path item for the Run 15 Collins analysis shortly after the Run 15 pi/K/p sample above has been completed and folded into that analysis.  We will submit this request as soon as the Run 15 EMC
calibrations are finalized and in the database.  (I wish I could give you a firm date for when that will occur.  But sadly, as of this moment I can't.)
