RHIC-wide STAF



• release of ‘RL97A’, first RHIC version of STAF, in a few weeks. In STAR, will replace SL97A
• Mailing list for development discussions to be set up by RCF
• Plans for joint web home and bug reporting system established
  • In-house bug reporting system for each experiments filters all reports; experts propagate reports to RHIC-wide bug system as appropriate
  • Probably GNU-based.

STAR benefitting from RHIC-common work in other experiments (Phenix), eg.

• Core software tools area /opt/rhic established
• Objectivity purchase negotiated; installed; tutorials under development
• Grand Challenge participation

Other possible common efforts less well developed

• Visualization?
• Geant4?
• ROOT and/or other analysis tools?
