STAR software training weeks have been successful in the past in quickly getting people on their feet with the code; will continue



• STAF training week in May ‘97: ~30 attendees
• Offline software training week planned for Nov 17+ ‘97
  • CMU: large training room with workstations
• Wayne State in-house training week this month
  • More local people than could travel to the Nov one
  • Teachers (C. Pruneau, K. Wilson) will participate at CMU
• Online STAF tutorials recently upgraded; more work on improving documentation needed
  • Training weeks are good motivators

Budgeting for professional training in FY98,99, beyond

• $30k/yr (eg. 20 people at $1.5k)
