d+Au run 8 jet embedding request

NOTE:

  • this page is continuously updated, new content will apper on the top
  • as of May 3, 2011, embedding macro & kumac are awaiting check & approval by the embedding team which will be followed by a production of a test sample

 

Pythia kumac file:

  • at rcf: ~kapitan/jets/embedding/Pythia_25-35_test/pyth_25-35.kumac
  • this is Pythia CDF Tune A, set for pt hard 25-35 GeV

 

Primary Vertex setting for Pythia:

  • in Z direction, the cut used in current analysis is +-30cm -> will be used in this embedding
  • two triggers of interest minbias (vpd-zdce) and HT2 have nearly identical Z-distribution (Gaussian with mean ~2cm and sigma ~20cm)
  • in X,Y plane minbias and HT2 are also quite similar, distributions have mean/RMS in X: 0.3cm/0.02cm, Y: -0.1cm/0.04cm - approximate with Gaussians
  • starsim allows only X,Y sigma and Z sigma -> set to 0.03 and 20 (means are 0)

  • 858 files, ~200GB, ~120k events

 

plots for zerobias files:

  • events per file, zerobias and HT2 events per run (tpc+tpx+emc detectors, production_dAu2008 setup)
  • the right hand side plot shows zerobias events nicely sample the whole HT2 trigger dataset

PV + trigger impact on track efficiencies:

result: effect of minbias/zerobias and different PV settings (mimic of beamline): use zerobias with fixed PV, decrease tracking efficiency by 1% and assign additional 1% uncertainty
